Interesting Times

The weather here in God's Country has turned nasty. After shoveling the drive three times in a day and half the snow blew over, the sky cleared, and the temperature dropped.

Today it was 10F/-12C when I got up and the daytime high is sitting at 24F/-4C. I am thankful during times like these for my Command Center. All of those tubes and blinky lights keep the room nice and toasty warm.

Today I am doing some experiments with a theremin running through every ring modulator that I own. Which is three, not counting the one on the EMW-200.

I am living in interesting times. There is the track on the IFAR compilation mentioned below and another that I just submitted for the album with the theme "Found". I am in the process of working on another track for a third IFAR Musique Concrete album with  he theme "Time Lapse".

Between those tracks, the inevitable videos, trying to bring this website up to speed, and trying to finish the next album...
Well it has been a busy year so far.

In just a little less than two weeks I will be in California for the NAMM show starting on the 24th. I am looking forward to getting out of the cold in spite of the fact that it will mean going in to a crowd. Nothing rattles me like a large group of people The NAMM show is the largest musical instrument trade show in the world. There will be Synth People from all over the planet. I am anxious to see the new Moog (in spite of it's dopey name). I hope to get a chance to meet Ken MacBeth and all of the people at the Analogue Haven booth. It's always great to make some new friends.

My plan is to post some photos of hot new products here. If anyone has any good rumors to check out drop me a line at atomicshadow AT outlook DOT com. I will do my best to make the rounds, but I am going to be helping Suit and Tie Guy out at his booth so it remains to be seen how much wandering around time I have. If you are going, stop by and say hello.

As of this post I am undecided about the Nehru jacket making the trip.

    Atomic Shadow

Uses a bewildering variety of synthesizers, effects and vintage electronic testing instruments to generate sonic sculptures. A modern take on the early days of electronic music.
